Ion Audio has come up with another truly excellent toy. It’s called the All-Star Guitar and it’s an IPad Dock that looks like a real electric guitar. It has a fretboard full of buttons (sound like any games you know?) and the IPad itself shows strings for you to pick.
As you can see this is a fun, totally portable Guitar Hero/Rock Star solo kit. You can leave it in a locker, or corner of your office, or stashed in your house and pull it out when you need to quick decompression session, or for a fun game to pass around with your friends. I would add one word of caution: the website claims this will help you learn how to play a guitar, but that isn’t really going to be the case. The hard part about learning how to play a real guitar isn’t learning where to put your fingers, it’s learning how to make the strings do what you want once you have your fingers on them. So not a guitar lesson gadget, but for fun, cool, portable music games this one is a complete ace.
